Payment information may be processed directly by the payment provider used for the transaction. We do not need to retain your full card details ourselves in order to process your payment. 

Payment providers may process your information in accordance with their own privacy notices and terms. 

6. Donations and support for classes

Max’s Pottery accepts voluntary donations which help us support people who may otherwise be unable to afford our pottery classes. 

If you make a donation, we may collect: 

  • Your name 

  • Contact details 

  • Donation amount and date 

  • Payment information needed to process the donation 

  • Information needed to administer Gift Aid, where applicable 

We use this information to process and record donations, administer Gift Aid where applicable, maintain appropriate financial records and support the operation of our classes. 

Where you request financial assistance towards the cost of a class, we may collect information necessary to assess and administer that support. 

We aim to collect only the information reasonably necessary for this purpose and will treat information relating to financial assistance with appropriate care and confidentiality. 

Where information relating to a person's health or another particularly sensitive matter is voluntarily provided, we will only use it where we have an appropriate lawful basis and, where required, an additional condition under UK data protection law. 

We will not publicly identify people who receive financial assistance without an appropriate lawful basis and, where required, their consent. 

7. Gift Aid

Where applicable, we may collect information needed to claim Gift Aid on eligible donations. 

This information may include your name, address and confirmation that you are eligible for Gift Aid. 

We will retain Gift Aid records for as long as necessary to meet our legal and tax obligations. 

Where required, information may be provided to HM Revenue & Customs.

We may send you information about Max’s Pottery, such as news, workshops, events, offers or other updates.

Our website is hosted and operated using Squarespace. 

Depending on how you use our website, Squarespace and its relevant service providers may process information such as your name, contact details, booking information, transaction information and website usage information. 

IONOS

We use IONOS for business email hosting. 

When you contact us by email, your email and any personal information contained within it may be processed through IONOS's systems. 

Payment providers

Where you make a payment or donation, your payment information may be processed by the relevant payment provider used for the transaction. 

Professional advisers and service providers

Where necessary, we may share relevant information with professional advisers, IT providers or other service providers who help us operate our business. 

Where a third party processes personal information on our behalf, we take appropriate steps to ensure that suitable data protection arrangements are in place. 

HM Revenue & Customs

We may provide information to HM Revenue & Customs where necessary to comply with tax, Gift Aid or other legal obligations.
